Center for Humane Technology Presents, Humane: A New Agenda for Tech
Brain hacking, tech addiction, social isolation, polarization… how can we make meaningful change?
According to Tristan Harris, technology is currently working against us not for us and it is important that we acknowledge and change that. There is currently a race to reverse engineer human instincts, to best be able to predict future wants and needs. We have been upgrading machines while downgrading humanity, a trend that needs to end. It isn’t too late to change the course of technology and humanity but it is important that a change is made. Luckily, unlike climate change this is an issue that can more easily be addressed. Harris said that only 1,000 people need to change what they are doing to fix this problem, something he understands being an ex google manager.
